
Massage Policies & Procedures
Our goal is to have our guests feeling truly cared for upon leaving Sabai Thai Massage & Spa upon every visit. The following policies and procedures serve as a guide for our staff and You, our client.
It is important that both You and our therapists have a clear understanding of our policies and procedures. By signing our Intake Form upon your initial consultation you acknowledge that you have read and accept these policies and procedures prior to your treatment.
We hold these policies and procedures to a very high standard and therefore have posted them here on our website for your convenience.
APPOINTMENTS
You can make an appointment by calling 1300 4MASSAGE (1300 462 772) during business hours or via our online booking system available on our Treatments page. We recommend you make a booking to avoid disappointment.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation or rescheduling a booking must occur no later than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time or you may be liable to pay 50% of the cost of the treatment. You can either call us on 1300 4MASSAGE (1300 462 772) to arrange cancellation or complete the cancellation via our online booking system. Refer to the original booking email and text message you would have received when making the booking.
No cancellation and no shows risk forfeiting 100% of the cost of their booking and risk not being scheduled for future appointments unless they pay in advance. Gift certificates may be forfeited for no shows.
LATENESS POLICY
We request that you arrive 5 minutes early for your appointment if you are an existing client. For new clients we ask that you come at least 10 minutes before your appointment time to fill out our Intake Form. If you arrive 5-10 minutes late for your appointment, the time left will be used to its best advantage. If you arrive 15 minutes or later without calling you will be considered a NO SHOW and the cancellation policy above will be exercised.
We will make an attempt to contact you, however if there is no answer your scheduled time will automatically be released for rebooking.
If the therapist is 5-10 minutes late for your appointment, you will receive still receive your full treatment; if the therapist is running more than 15 minutes late you will receive your full treatment and a 20% discount.
SICKNESS POLICY
We recognises that both therapists and clients are vulnerable to infections and therefore ask that you cancel any appointment if you are feeling unwell. If you have any of the following contagious illnesses the massage sessions will be rescheduled:
Diarrhoea, Vomiting, Fever, Chicken Pox, Measles, Mumps, Meningitis, Hepatitis A, Conjunctivitis, Rubella, Head Lice, Impetigo, Influenza, Meningococcal Disease, Polio, Ringworm of the body, feet or scalp, Scabies, Thrush, Whooping cough and the common cold.
Please note if you have any COVID related symptoms you must cancel your appointment immediately and take the appropriate recommended actions. Sabai is a COVID safe workplace and we are obliged to operate in accordance with health authorities regulations.
SANITATION AND HYGIENE
Our policies on sanitation are that all equipment and linens that come in contact with you will be cleansed in an approved method. Before and after each treatment, the therapist’s hands and forearms will be washed thoroughly with appropriate soap. Any breaks in the skin of the therapist will be covered with protective coverings and you will be informed of this. You must come to your treatment appointment in a a hygienic and clean manner. You must also inform the therapist of any breaks in the skin and these areas will be avoided.
SCOPE OF TREATMENTS
The treatments we offer here at the Sabai Thai Massage & Spa are intended to be health-enhancing systems that promote body balance and efficient body function. Massage stimulates the natural restorative processes of the body and mechanically reduces muscle tension. Our aim is to make you feel good, relieve tension and help you feel more relaxed. Our massage therapists are not medical practitioners. Our massage therapists will not diagnose particular body dysfunction and should not be consulted for treatment of a specific medical condition. If you are suffering from an injury and you are unsure whether massage therapy is suitable for you please seek approval from a health professional. Sabai Thai Massage & Spa will not accept any responsibility or liability for any allegations that our therapists have caused or aggravated an injury.
During your treatment, it is important that you are honest and open with the massage therapist. Feedback about the effectiveness of the treatment, your level of comfortability, massage techniques that you enjoy, and massage techniques that you do not like etc are welcomed and very important in order to make the most of your treatment session.
There is an Intake Form to be completed upon your initial consultation and the information captured by this form will be used to ensure your treatment meets your expectations. The information captured by this form will remain confidential and is subject to our privacy policies.
RESPECT OF CLIENTS BOUNDARIES
In order to maintain respect for each client and establish professional boundaries the following policies apply:
When receiving a massage every effort is made to keep your body draped. Only the area being massaged will be undraped. The breast and genital area will NOT be touched under any circumstances.
Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between you and our massage therapist is forbidden. Requests for sexual activity will NOT be tolerated, will be viewed as solicitation and may be reported to the authorities. If this occurs, the treatment will end IMMEDIATELY and you will be told to leave the premises. You will NEVER be rescheduled and will not be welcome on the premises going forward.
Children under the age of eighteen will need guardian’s consent and are not permitted to attend their parent’s treatment as they are unable to be supervised properly.
The therapy rooms do not have lockable doors so you may stop the treatment at any time and are free to leave. If this occurs we encourage you to provide feedback to manager on duty.
CONFIDENTIALITY AND CONVERSATION
Any discussions between you and the therapist is confidential. You may or may not choose to talk during the treatment. It is inappropriate for the therapist to discuss his or her own personal life with you. Our therapists are happy to listen to your conversation and may share a professional exchange. All of your personal information is completely confidential and can only be released under a court order or if you give us permission to do so.
EXISTING AND NEW MEDICAL CONDITIONS

It is your responsibility to keep our therapist informed of any medical treatment currently being taken and to provide written permission from the physician, chiropractor, physical therapist etc, that a massage treatment is suitable. It is also your responsibility to keep us informed of any changes to your health conditions at each visit.
INFORMED CONSENT

Upon your initial consultation you are required to complete an Intake Form and by signing this form you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these policies and procedures.
